The Fender American Ultra is Fender's flagship series and is qualitatively located between the American Vintage II series and directly below the custom shop . However, due to its modern design, the American Ultra series differs significantly from the Vintage-influenced guitars that form much of Fender's wider line-up. American Ultra is Fender's most advanced series , offering sophisticated guitars and basses for musicians who demand the best quality in precision, performance and sound .
In most American Ultra models, the body is made of alder wood, and the necks are of course made of maple. The necks with a unique “Modern D” neck profile and gently rounded fingerboard edges almost play themselves. The compound fingerboards with a 10” to 14” radius and 22 medium-jumbo frets nestle comfortably in the fingering hand. The flattened base of the neck allows for comfortable gripping even at the highest positions.
No expense was spared in terms of electronic technology either: the newly developed Fender Noiseless single coils ensure a hum-free performance, even at high volumes and on large stages. Depending on the model, Fender Double Tap humbuckers with coil tapping function are also installed to expand the tonal possibilities.
In order to make it possible for everyone to have a Fender instrument , they are offered in different price ranges. The subsidiary Squier sells inexpensive models manufactured in the Far East according to original dimensions and with the accumulated Fender know-how in the background. You can find an affordable, “real” Fender in the series made in Mexico . The classic original Fender instruments such as the American Pro series are made in the USA . For lovers of hand-built instruments and guitars with Vintage flair, there is the Fender custom shop , where you can also have a guitar built entirely according to your ideas.
