Mit der Original Les Paul Serie aus der Inspired by Gibson Kollektion rückt Epiphone ein weiteres Stück in Sachen Authentizität an die alten Originale von Gibson heran. Auffällig an der Les Paul Standard 50's Heritage Metallic Gold ist die geänderte Kopfplatte, die der klassischen Epiphone Kopfplatte der frühen 70er Jahre entspricht. Der Hals ist im 59 Rounded C Medium Profil abgerichtet - ein wenig kräftiger, als der Hals der Vorgängerserie. Mit an Bord ist ein Set der bewährten Epiphone Probucker. Auch in Sachen Elektrik hat Epiphone aufgerüstet: die Potis der Schaltung stammen vom renomierten Hersteller CTS, die Schaltung ist im historisch korrekten 50's Wiring ausgeführt.
