In this construction, the frets are set into the fingerboard at angles so that the scale length of the lower strings is longer than that of the higher strings. This results in more sustain and improved intonation for the lower notes.
Dingwall also specializes in the production of 5- and even 6-string basses, making them a must-try for fans of extended range instruments.
