Product information
The British Pedal Company Compact Series Rangemaster is a compact, modern replica of one of the world's most famous effects - the Dallas Rangemaster Treble Booster. First produced in 1965, the Rangemaster has been used by many of the world's most respected guitarists including Eric Clapton, Tony Iommi, Rory Gallagher, Brian May, Marc Bolan, Ritchie Blackmore and many more. The Dallas Rangemaster was originally designed to increase the signal strength on the way from the guitar to the amplifier and to boost the highs in the signal. The need for a treble booster arose in the mid-1960s when British tube amplifiers tended to produce a somewhat 'dark, muddy' sound when overdriven, particularly when played with humbucker pickups. Although the Rangemaster was designed as a treble booster, it was also used as an overdrive effect to produce a more distorted but focused sound with many classic British amplifiers.

About British Pedal Company

The British Pedal Company brings together a team of designers and developers with over 60 years of experience in the music industry. The team originally developed, designed and created pedals for the JMI brand in the early 2000s and was very successful. In 2011 they split from JMI and launched their own range under the name British Pedal Company in 2014. Today, the British Pedal Company is able to offer a far superior product, thanks to the many hours of research that have gone into improving production and optimizing transistor manufacturing. All transistors are manufactured to in-house specifications to ensure higher reliability and lower noise. Pedals from the British Pedal Company are played by, among others, Billy Gibbons ( ZZ Top ), Dan Auerbach ( The Black Keys ) and Gary Moore.
