Buy Left‑handed Electric Guitars at session
Left‑handed, or Lefty, guitarists often have a tougher time because the selection of instruments for them is significantly smaller than for the right‑handed “mainstream guitarist”. But that’s no reason to despair. In our webshop we give left‑handed guitarists the big stage and plenty of choice to fulfil your musical ambitions. Are you looking for the legendary Fender Stratocaster or Telecaster models or want to hold a famous Gibson Les Paul in your hands? We offer you a wide range of popular guitar models from Fender, Gibson, Ibanez, Gretsch and PRS as rare left‑handed guitars.
Left‑handed guitars are becoming ever more popular. These mirror‑image variants of a “normal guitar” make playing and making music a lot easier for left‑handers. Famous guitarists like Jimi Hendrix, Paul McCartney or later Kurt Cobain and Tony Iommi had a much harder time getting hold of their rare lefty guitars. You might say you could just restring a normal guitar the other way round. But that’s not enough. The playing experience after such a retrofit is often unsatisfactory. To allow correct intonation, the bridge on most guitars is installed at an angle. If you simply string the guitar the other way round, the lower, thicker strings would very likely buzz against the frets. Major guitar manufacturers therefore made it their mission to produce popular guitar shapes as mirrored, left‑hand versions (LH guitars).
On left‑handed guitars it’s not just the strings that are fitted the other way round; the body and the associated cutaways that make fingering easier (single or double cuts), as well as the electronics and the headstock, are all installed and arranged as mirror images. If you decide to buy a left‑hand electric guitar, you should also bear the reversed circumstances in mind when selecting accessories or notation. For example, problems can arise when buying shaped cases, pickguards or fretboard charts.
If you’d like to avoid the extra effort as a left‑hander, you can, of course, learn to play your guitar like a right‑hander. Famous guitarists like Gary Moore, Mark Knopfler and Steve Morse have shown us successfully how this can work. For all other left‑handers among you, we’ve put together a selection in our webshop of lefty guitars from well‑known makers like Gibson, Fender, Gretsch, Ibanez and PRS, plus matching guitar accessories.
