Vocal microphones compared
We've tested dynamic vocal microphones under €100 for you
With the many vocal microphones on the market, singers can quickly lose track. To help you find which live microphone reproduces your voice best, we've carried out a small comparison test with singer Franca Morgano (among others known from Magic Affair).
With this we want to make the sonic differences of the dynamic microphones clear to your ears. Of course the classic must not be missing: the Shure SM58 has become indispensable on stages around the world. And in terms of price, the vocal mic par excellence sets the upper limit of our comparison at around €100. In addition, we show dynamic microphones from other well-known manufacturers: Audix OM2, AKG D 5 S, Sennheiser e 835, Beyerdynamic TG V50 d and Klang SDM-58, the most affordable mic in the test.
Condenser microphones for vocals have been deliberately excluded. We also want to emphasise that this is about the live use and not mics for the studio. For recording purposes, Shure, AKG, Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser and Co. of course offer special vocal microphones, which you can find with us under Studio microphones here on session.de.
Hear the different microphones compared!
In our video with Franka Morgano and Oliver you can listen to the differences between the microphones. However, you should use headphones or good speakers, because small mobile phone or laptop speakers can't reproduce the differences.
Best to have a look and, above all, listen right away! Even better: pop into one of our stores to try the microphones yourself so you can find the right vocal microphone for your voice. You can find address and opening times on our store pages.
