Martin D-18
The D-18, together with the D-28, is the oldest mass-produced dreadnought acoustic guitar and is one of the best-known models from the American manufacturer Martin Guitars. The first prototype was built in 1931; a year later the D-18 came to market and it has remained very popular ever since.
The typical D-18 features a spruce top with Martin's characteristic X-bracing. The back and sides are made of mahogany, which gives the guitar its clear, penetrating sound. A mahogany neck with ebony fretboard is also standard and ensures comfortable playability.
Because of its reputation and popularity among pros like Kurt Cobain, Johnny Cash and Bryan Adams, the D-18 is offered in numerous model variants. In addition to the standard model in various finishes, Custom Shop and Authentic variants are also available.
