Gibson Les Paul Standard

As early as 1958, Gibson built Les Paul guitars called the Standard. In 1960, with the redesign of the Les Paul to later become the SG, production was initially discontinued. However, since 1976, Gibson has been producing Les Paul standards again. The Standard series are guitars that embody the essence of the Les Paul.

The Les Paul Standard guitars consist of a mahogany body with a maple top and a glued mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard. This is based on the same recipe that characterized the first Les Paul guitars of the late 1950s.

The Les Paul Standard is available in several model series, each representing a different time in Gibson's history and thus paying homage to this time. In addition to the Standard 50's, these model series also include the Standard 60's and the Standard 50's with P-90 pickups.

For those of you who particularly value historical accuracy, Gibson also builds reissues of former Les Paul standards as frame of the Murphy Lab .

If these guitars are not exactly what you are looking for, we would like to recommend the Les Paul Studio series or the Les Paul custom shop guitars .

If the Gibson versions are a little too expensive for you, you can find an overview of our range of Epiphone Inspired by Gibson guitars here.
