Fender Vintera III – Late ’60s models
The Late ’60s models of the Fender Vintera III series bridge the gap between classic vintage Fender and the more powerful aesthetic of the emerging 1970s. The instruments feel bolder, more assertive and visually more confident.
More presence, more character
Typical of this era are round-laminated rosewood fretboards or maple necks, combined with comfortable Late ’60s "C" profiles, Vintage Tall Frets and the traditional 7.25" radius.
The look also changes noticeably:
"F"-logo neckplates, Aged White Pearloid Dots, larger headstock details and classic 3-ply pickguards give the Late ’60s models their distinctive look.
Sonically, the specially voiced Vintage-Style Late ’60s pickups deliver a bit more presence and cutting power without losing the typical Fender character. Stratocaster, Precision Bass and other models of this period impress with clearly defined highs, focused mids and a punchy low end.
Especially the bass models already show the development towards the more distinctive Fender sounds of the 1970s:
The Late ’60s Precision Bass pairs classic split-coil power with more modern details such as pearloid inlays and "lollipop" tuners – a bass with vintage soul and plenty of character.
