Fender Vintera III – Late ’50s models
The Late ’50s models of the Fender Vintera III series bring back the origins of the electric Fender sound — direct, dynamic and uncompromisingly authentic. Instruments from this era set the benchmark for Stratocaster and Telecaster to this day.
The original Fender sound
Typical of the late ’50s are one-piece maple necks, classic 7.25" fretboard radii and distinctive ’50s neck profiles such as the chunky "D" of the Stratocaster or the characteristic "V" of the Telecaster. Combined with vintage tall frets and a bone nut, they create a traditional playing feel with immediate response and noticeable dynamics.
Sonically the Late ’50s models remain firmly vintage-oriented:
Specifically voiced vintage-style single-coils deliver brilliant highs, tight lows and the open, wiry Fender tone that defined the era. The Stratocaster impresses with glass-clear SSS sounds and a classic vintage tremolo, while the Telecaster, with its 3-saddle bridge and characteristic twang, evokes the early days of rock ’n’ roll.
Visually, the late ’50s stand for purist elegance:
1-ply pickguards, black dot inlays, nickel/chrome hardware and classic vintage finishes underline the authentic character of these instruments.
Selected limited editions further expand the series with historically inspired features such as ash bodies, gold hardware or special 1958 specifications.
