The development of Fender's groundbreaking Acoustasonic guitars continues with the introduction of the Acoustasonic Standard models. The Acoustasonic Standard guitars offer many of the same great features as their counterparts made in the USA and Mexico, but are significantly more affordable and their features have been pared back to the essentials. The Acoustasonic Standard was developed to the same blueprint as the other Acoustasonics and doesn't ask you to compromise if you want the great feel and craftsmanship of an Acoustasonic.

The history of the Acoustasonic
The Fender Acoustasonic series stands for semi-acoustic versions of classic Fender electric guitars. The American Acoustasonic was developed in 2019 by a team of highly creative musicians and equally ingenious engineers, and it pushes the boundaries between acoustic and electric guitars. The Acoustic Engine, developed by Fender and Fishman, powers the Acoustasonic guitars and delivers a new, unique range of acoustic and electric tones. The Stringed Instrument Resonance System (SIRS) with the waterfall soundhole and the onboard electronics were specially developed for the Acoustasonic instruments.
Body construction
The hollow nyatoh body of the Acoustasonic models is lightweight and ergonomically shaped and features a comfortable forearm contour. The spruce top is set into the body and is elegantly finished with a thin 3-ply black/white/black binding. Additional comfort is found in the upper registers of the fretboard: a contoured neck heel and a neck plate integrated into the body make playing in the upper positions a pleasure. The fretboard, the controls and the bridge of the Acoustasonic guitars are made of rosewood.
The Acoustasonic body features an inset top with an integrated armrest and Fender's patent-pending Stringed Instrument Resonance System (SIRS) with the tuned soundhole, which uses a "waterfall" design to better control airflow into the body. This innovation produces a natural tone when the guitar is not plugged into an amplifier, and forms the foundation for the Acoustic Engine. With the tuned soundhole as part of the tonal foundation you can create an almost unlimited sonic palette with two controls.
The American Acoustasonic guitars have an open-pore finish. This means the finish is light and thin and the pores of the wood remain visible. This type of finish allows maximum resonance from the body and top. The mahogany neck and headstock of the Acoustasonic Telecaster feature a laser-engraved logo — an elegant high-tech detail that adds to the instrument's beauty. Chrome-plated tuning machines and a "wing" string retainer increase the string angle at the nut and ensure balanced string tension.
All Acoustasonic Player guitars offer five voice pairs selectable via the 3-way voice-selector switch. Position 1 is at the bridge, position 3 at the neck. This collection of acoustic and electric voices can be played solo or mixed with the blend control to create endless combinations. For the "A" voice the blend control is turned fully counter-clockwise, for the "B" voice fully clockwise. Each model offers its own palette of sounds and voices.
Tip: We recommend playing Fender Acoustasonic guitars through an acoustic amplifier, as this better utilises their tonal possibilities than an electric-guitar amp. Alternatively, you can also connect the Acoustasonic directly to an interface.
The Acoustasonic Standard guitars are powered by an internal lithium-ion battery. It's recommended to fully charge the battery before you play the instrument for the first time. Connect the USB charging cable to a 5-volt USB-compatible charger and plug it into a socket. The LED at the output jack lights solid red during charging and changes to solid green when charging is complete. It takes 4 to 5 hours to fully charge the battery. A fully charged battery powers the system for about 20 hours. The battery will not overcharge — a built-in regulator prevents it from overcharging and possibly damaging the system.
