The foundation for everything that followed!
The Telecaster is regarded as one of the most influential instruments of all time. It defined how an electric guitar should look, feel and sound – clear, direct and uncompromising. Its timeless design and remarkable tonal versatility continue to make it a first choice for stage and studio.
Pickups
When it comes to pickups, the 75th Anniversary Collection showcases the full tonal range of the Telecaster. Models such as the Player II Telecaster feature specially developed Thunderbolt Single-Coils, delivering the classic Tele sound with clear highs, pronounced twang and modern punch. The American Professional Custom Telecaster is equipped with V-Mod II Single-Coils, offering a balanced and versatile tone with enhanced dynamics and detail. For an authentic vintage sound, the Pure Vintage ’51 Single-Coils of the Road Worn 1951 Telecaster closely recreate the tone of the early originals. The American Professional Classic Cabronita takes a different approach with TV Jones® TV Classic Pickups, producing an open tone with a subtle Gretsch-inspired character. In the American Ultra II Telecaster, a powerful Fastlane Humbucker at the bridge meets an Ultra Noiseless Tele Pickup at the neck—creating a modern combination that blends classic Tele character with higher output and hum-free performance.
Bridge
A defining element of the Telecaster sound is the bridge construction, which also varies across the 75th Anniversary Collection. Vintage-inspired models such as the Road Worn 1951 Telecaster and the American Professional Classic Cabronita feature classic 3-saddle string-through-body bridges, known for delivering the characteristic Tele twang, strong attack and a very direct response. More modern models like the Player II Telecaster and the American Ultra II Telecaster use 6-saddle bridges, allowing for more precise individual intonation adjustments. The American Professional Custom Telecaster combines both approaches with a 3-saddle bridge and compensated brass saddles, preserving the classic Tele character while improving intonation accuracy.
Body & Neck
The 75th Anniversary Collection also highlights different approaches to body woods, tops and neck profiles—ranging from vintage-inspired to modern designs. Most models feature classic alder bodies, known for delivering the balanced Telecaster tone with clear highs and a defined attack. The Road Worn 1951 Telecaster, however, uses ash, a wood prized for the early Tele sound with crisp attack and transparent dynamics. A visually and tonally refined option is the American Professional Custom Telecaster, which pairs an alder body with a flame maple top. Neck shapes range from the substantial 1951 "U" profile of the vintage-style models to comfortable Modern or Deep "C" profiles, and up to the modern Modern "D" neck of the American Ultra II Telecaster, which also features a compound fingerboard radius for enhanced playability. Different fingerboard materials such as maple, rosewood and ebony further define the character of each instrument.
“The Fender bass
was the technological breakthrough that changed music forever.”
Quincy Jones
Just as revolutionary as the Fender Telecaster is the Fender Precision Bass. As the world’s first electric bass, it represented a technological breakthrough that permanently changed music. For the first time, bass players had access to a portable, fretted and amplified instrument with precise intonation.
With its powerful, clearly defined low-end foundation, the Precision Bass became the backbone of countless productions—from soul and Motown to rock and modern genres.

So it was only natural for him to grab the 75th Anniversary models and put them in front of the camera. How the guitars sound and what Mr. Custom-Shop has to say about the anniversary series—find out in our video.
