Boss Katana Bass

The Boss Katana series is a universally popular series of modelling amplifiers for electric guitars and matching accessories. Boss is now launching the Katana bass series so that bassists can also get their money's worth. This series includes, for example, the Katana-500 Bass top and the matching 1x 12" speaker cabinet as well as some combo amplifiers. Here we present the series in more detail.

The Katana-500 Bass Head

The Katana-500 bass head raises the bar for professional bass amplifiers to a new level thanks to the latest Boss technology. The combination of revised preamp circuitry and newly developed 500 watt Class D power amp emphasise your playing and technique with extremely expressive sounds. In addition, the innovative cab resonance function allows you to quickly tune the amplifier output signal to the connected speaker cabinet. With the wide range of sound tools, you can customise your sound and benefit from the extensive connection options.

Shape your personal sound

The Katana-500 Bass Head offers you a wide range of options to find your perfect sound. You can edit frequencies with the active 4-band EQ and choose from three low-mid and high-mid frequency bands to control specific frequency ranges. The bass range can be adapted to different stages using the bottom control. The high-cut toggle switch offers you three different settings to soften hard peaks in the treble. You can also change the sound character of your amplifier at the touch of a button using the Shape button.

Lightweight and portable

Thanks to its space-saving design and comparatively low weight, the Katana-500 bass head is perfect for everyday touring. However, despite its compact design, it offers a wide range of connection options. The two lockable speaker outputs are specially designed to output high voltages, while the XLR line output allows you to play out a PA signal in parallel, which can be picked up at various positions in the amplifier's signal path.

The Katana bass combos deliver high-performance amplification based on Boss' decades of experience and expertise. Equipped with a proven Class AB power amp, the stage-ready amplifiers impress with their enormous volume, plenty of punch and assertiveness as well as a smooth, natural crunch the more you turn up the gain knob. Three preamp types are selectable: Vintage, Flat and Modern - each with a powerful, three-stage Shape switch for fine-tuning the sound - allowing you to find the perfect sound for all playing styles and genres every time.
