Metronomes are useful musical tools that were developed by Dietrich Nikolaus angle . Using an acoustic , sometimes also optical signal , they help to improve your sense of rhythm and tact . The tempo of the signal, which is output as a kind of pulse, is given in BPM (beats per minute) .
