To ensure that it is not attacked by the saliva produced during play, an alloy made of gold brass or nickel silver is common. A trumpet made of gold brass is said to have a warmer sound , silver-plated instruments are said to have greater longevity, but also a higher price.
A distinction is also made between trumpets with cylinder valves (rotary valves), which are more commonly used in classical music, and the much more common trumpets with perinet valves (pump valves), which are recommended for beginners. Perinet valves are made of stainless steel or Monel, but which of these materials is the right one must be decided based on the player's own preference. For the most part, a medium-large diameter has been established for the leadpipe. High-quality instruments are also characterized by a hand-hammered bell.
What you should pay attention to when buying a beginner's trumpet is, in addition to an easy response, good intonation or tuning.
