Product information

Under the motto “The best student flute now even better,” Yamaha is introducing the 200, 300 and 400 series
The transverse flutes now appear in a new design with a pointed lid mechanism, as is also used in the professional models. The optimized pad ensures better stability and thus contributes to the improved life of the flutes. The elegant new form of the flap lids gives the flutes a pleasantly comfortable and natural playing feel.
The YFL-472, like its predecessor (YFL-471), is equipped with an e-mechanism and advanced G. Both the head, foot and middle pieces of the flute are made of sterling silver, for a brilliant and radiant sound.
In contrast to the YFL-412, the YFL-472 is equipped with ring keys, which provide greater tonal richness and even make it possible to play quarter tones.

The CY headpiece
The CY headjoint has a polyconical shape, the mouth hole is undercut in a specific way. This ensures an excellent response and a warm, rich tone and helps beginners in particular to produce a beautiful sound quickly. More advanced flautists will appreciate its even and fast response in all pitches.

The “e-mechanism”
The e-mechanism is an additional lever that makes the high E (e3) more precise and easier to play. It makes intonation easier and provides additional playing security. e-mechanism have proven themselves and established themselves many years ago, especially in the amateur sector and among semi-professionals.

The “preferred G”
The position of the G key, known as "advanced G", is now standard on every good flute. This flap position allows the instrument to adapt to the ergonomics of the hand and not the other way around. So make sure your flute has an “advanced G” – your fingers will thank you!
