Small but mighty!

The handy SEQTRAK combines a step sequencer, a drum machine, synthesizers, a sampler and mixing functions in a compact, battery-powered unit that also includes a microphone and speakers. Thanks to this feature set, SEQTRAK is ideal as a travel companion for musicians and producers who want to capture ideas wherever they are.

The basis of music production with SEQTRAK is the sequencer with its dynamic and intuitive controls. For each track there are six pattern slots that you can switch between to bring more variety to the music. The sequencer and its subdivisions form the framework on which the various sounds hang. This creates the foundation for recordings, live performances or production on the go.

Drum section:
Beats to go!

The first section of the Yamaha SEQTRAK is the drum section with seven tracks: kick, snare, clap, two hi-hats and two percussion sounds. Each of these tracks can be loaded with high-quality sounds from the extensive library. The sound library currently contains over 2,000 sounds across all SEQTRAK instruments and will be expanded in future with additional sound packs. It's also possible to load samples from other users via the SEQTRAK app. These sounds are then arranged on the step sequencer with up to 128 steps, of which 16 are shown at a time on the corresponding buttons.

Synthesizer & Sampler:
... join forces!

Yamaha SEQTRAK includes an impressively sounding synthesizer section. Three synthesizers and a sampler can be used simultaneously. The first two synths use Yamaha's highly versatile AWM2 engine with 128-voice polyphony. The third synthesizer is called DX and brings back the characterful sounds of the classic Yamaha synth with an FM engine with four operators. All synthesizers can be switched between Mono, Poly and Chord modes to suit the application. Seven keys are available for playing melodies or chords and can be adjusted in terms of scale and root note

In Keyboard mode the step-sequencer's buttons become a chromatic keyboard. There's even an arpeggiator on board. The sampler assigns a sound from the library to each of the seven keys. Alternatively, SEQTRAK can record and sample its own sounds, either from an external source, via USB, by resampling or using the built-in microphone. The range of possibilities with SEQTRAK is remarkable, especially given the compact form factor.

Sound-design & effects section:
Sonic finishing touches in one device!

All of Yamaha SEQTRAK's preset sounds can be further edited in the sound-design area on the right. Parameters such as pitch, volume, pan position, attack, decay or filter can be adjusted depending on the selected sound. Further options are opened up by the effects section, which additionally provides reverb, delay, modulation effects and more. Distortion for a kick or compression for the whole mix – everything is ready. No additional gear is required. With the SEQTRAK you can produce complete songs from the idea to the final mix.

SEQTRAK App:
Dive deeper into production

To find the right balance between intuition and depth, Yamaha has given a lot of thought to the SEQTRAK workflow. The SEQTRAK app for iOS and Android opens up even more detailed settings and provides access to all parameters of the effects, drums and synthesizers. The app even includes a visualiser for the user-friendly creation of interesting videos in which animated objects react to the music.

You will find, for example, western guitars, electric guitars, electric basses, the popular PSR keyboards, acoustic drum sets and electric drum sets or transverse flutes and saxophones in the beginner and advanced range as well as the popular Clavinova CLP-700 digital pianos and entertainer keyboards such as the Genos or the Yamaha MX49 synthesizer, PA equipment and studio monitors for professional demands.
