Hinter den E-Bässen aus unserer Session Edition verbergen sich wahrgewordene Fliegengewichte, die in Zusammenarbeit mit der deutschen Bass-Manufaktur Sandberg entstanden sind.
Die Grundlage dieser limitierten Sondermodelle basiert auf der beliebten California SL Serie, wobei die Abkürzung SL für nichts geringeres als „Superlight“ steht. Mit diesem Wissen im Hinterkopf, ist man beim Blick auf die Waage dennoch überrascht, denn die 4-Saiter Modelle bringen lediglich zwischen 2,7 kg und 3 kg und die 5-Saiter Modelle irgendwas zwischen 3,2 kg und 3,5 kg auf die Waage.
Bei der Herstellung von Korpus und Hals hat SANDBERG auf sehr leichte Klanghölzer wie Paulownia und norwegische Fichte zurückgegriffen. Abgerundet wird die Ausstattung der Bässe durch eine passive Elektronik und moderne Humbucker-Tonabnehmer, die durch ihren Splitswitch im Handumdrehen zu Single-Coils gemacht werden können, sowie ein gut gepolstertes Gig-Bag.
The Sandberg bass company was founded in 1987 by Holger Stonjek and a business partner in Braunschweig. The company then quickly made a name for itself in the woofer community, because Sandberg 's appearance, sound, quality and, last but not least, price are right. Lovers of classic designs - California models - as well as modern look and feel - e.g. Basic, Panther, Custom and Bullet models will find what they are looking for. Sandberg now also offers models under the name Electra that are not produced in Germany, but must meet the same high quality standards as the regular basses.
Since 2010, the Florence, California ST and DC models have also included electric guitars in the range, which, like the basses, have what it takes to become modern classics.
