Roland SH-4D

Roland SH-4d

The creative powerhouse among synthesizers

With the SH-4d, Roland brings a new generation of desktop synthesizers to the market, inspired equally by its own 50-year synthesizer history and the creative demands of modern producers. Equipped with 11 oscillator models, an intuitive hands-on interface and a powerful, multitimbral pattern sequencer, the SH-4d is a true sound-design monster. From vintage to future – this synth masters analogue modelling sounds as confidently as digital textures and innovative real-time performance features such as D-Motion or Visual Arpeggio.

More versatile than ever
& even more powerful with the new update!

With 32 knobs, four sliders, extensive modulation options and built-in effects, the SH-4d is ready for spontaneous ideas, deep sound exploration and complete compositions – whether in the studio, on stage or on the go. The homage to legendary Roland sound engines like SH-101 and JUNO-106 meets modern workflow innovations. Techno legend Carl Craig calls it "a little monster" – and for good reason. It's a statement.

The free OS update to version 2.0 is now available for download: it adds the new oscillator models HARMONIC and STEP, introduces a pattern-chain function for seamless performances and compositions, and brings many further improvements.

About Roland

Roland was founded as a manufacturer of various music materials and studio technology on April 18, 1972 in Osaka, Japan. Among the earliest products to come onto the market were the first rhythm machines from the TR series, whose successors TR-808, TB-303 and TR-909 had a significant influence on both techno and electro music, as well as hip hop scene. The JC-120 Jazz chorus guitar amplifier was also created in the mid-1970s, and both Andy Summers from The Police as well as Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield from Metallica were audibly impressed by its ultra-clear sound in conjunction with the built-in chorus effect . Since then and to this day, Roland has continuously expanded its catalog with high-quality and interesting products in a wide variety of fields such as digital pianos, groove boxes, e-drums and synthesizers.
