Discover the Peavey 6505 II in detail

The History of the 6505

The evolution of the legend! The legendary6505 high-gain amp;caused a sensation when it was launched in 1992 and has received several updates over the years. The Peavey 6505 was developed in collaboration with renowned artists and is still very popular today. Its descendant, the current Peavey 6505 II, which we would like to introduce to you here, has been given some practical features that take the fun and functionality of this amp to a whole new level.

The making of a classic

The 6505+ was originally launched under the name 5150 as Eddie Van Halen's second signature model. It was created in close collaboration between the guitarist and developer James Brown, who was known to be a picky guitarist. The amplifier was inspired by Eddie Van Halen's Soldano SLO-100, which he played live and to a large extent on the album For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge and which also perfectly complemented his famous Marshall Superlead.
After production of the 6505+ was moved to the Far East, the model was discontinued a few years ago. Like the 6505 before it, it is celebrating its resurrection under a new name: the making of a classic.

The new features

This classic amplifier has now been given a few contemporary upgrades and rebranded as the Peavey 6505 II. The Rhythm channel's Crunch switch is foot-switchable, as is the FX Loop, and BIAS metering points are accessible from the outside. Each channel has a separate 3-band EQ with additional presence and resonance control. The sound is as you know and love it: gain to the max, incredible pressure and an aggressive, assertive high gain board. A 3-way footswitch is included in the scope of delivery.
