The six selectable tremolo waveforms of the M305 MXR tremolo offer musicians a variety of new variations of the popular effect in addition to classic interpretations. The MXR style offers the natural, pulsating sound of the M159 MXR stereo tremolo. The bias style is based on the rich, compressed tremolo effects that were used in the tube amplifiers of the early 60s. The Revo style is a completely new development from MXR that flips the original waveform to create stronger peaks in the modulation. The Opto-Style offers the smooth, pulsating tremolo effect that you would otherwise only find on corresponding pedals with photocells. The SQR style produces an extremely emphasized, 'chopped' tremolo and the harm style impresses with watery, Phase-like sounds. Controlling the effect is very easy with the control options for speed, gain and depth and the different modes can be easily selected by pressing the gain control. In addition, the pedal offers tap tempo, expression pedal control, stereo operation and an envelope mode in which the effect reacts to the dynamics in the game.
