The sticks of the Concert HD series are made from American hickory to provide greater durability and a solid playing feel. The relatively thin Concert HD4 stick is suitable for a wide range of applications. It works best when controlled volume is required. The thicker shoulder gives the stick a firm playing feel with great response. The barrel tip and the hickory wood complement each other with excellent articulation without producing an overly loud cymbal sound.

This is what sets Meinl sticks apart in a special way, because this additional step ensures that fluctuations in the wood can be reliably compensated for and two pairs of sticks will exhibit the same characteristics even if they are purchased years apart. This ensures the same playing feel and the same sound for every pair.
