It takes a special guitar to meet the demands of such a great guitarist. Designed together with Tommy Emmanuel, the TE series guitars from Maton are an excellent tribute to Tommy's musical ability and Maton's outstanding craftsmanship. Our Tommy Emmanuel models feature a mother-of-pearl inlay "CGP" on the 12th fret. The acronym stands for "Certified Guitar Player", a titel given to Tommy by Chet Atkins and held by only 3 other guitarists in the world! The Maton EBG series includes several models in the popular Maton 808 OM form. These impress with their sound, which does not lose any of its impact despite the rather small body volume. The goal behind the concept was to build a guitar that would amaze the guitarist the first time it was played and would delight him as he continued playing. In our opinion, this project was a success. The guitars also score points with their very good workmanship and an individual look.
From a small backyard workshop in 1946, Maton Guitars has grown into a truly great Australian success story. Maton currently employs around 70 people and is still 100% family owned and operated.
