IK Multimedia has long been known for its authentic software simulations such as AmpliTube, SampleTank and T- racks as well as innovative stage and studio hardware. With AX I/O they unite both worlds and developed a unique audio interface especially for guitarists and bassists.
AX I/O combines high-quality components with original features; For example, the Italians have developed the unique Z-Tone: with the knowledge that every pickup, depending on the impedance of the preamplifier, differs drastically in dynamics and sound , they designed the most versatile input channel possible, which can be used to control the guitar or bass in just a few simple steps - sound shapes and refines. The Z-Tone controls can be used to adjust the impedance of the preamplifier from 1 mOhm (“sharp”) to 2.2 kOhm (“bold”). In addition, the input level of the channel can be adjusted to the output level of passive and active pickups, whereby the user always has the choice of switching between a transparent “Pure”sound and the popular, warm sound of the JFET transistor.
In order to make reamping, another component of professional guitar recordings, as convenient as possible, AX I/O was given a specially adapted amp-out. With the low-noise, ground-isolated 6.3 mm jack output, any amp can be easily connected using a regular guitar cable (without a DI box), allowing various guitar amplifiers and pedalboards to be rewired quickly and easily.
AX I/O is delivered with a huge software package. Included are over 140 AmpliTube amp & cabinet simulations, 10 T-RackS singles (including various EQs, effects, compressors, etc.) and an Ableton Live 10 Lite version. Thanks to the built-in “preset encoder”, preset rigs in AmpliTube can be switched through directly on the AX I/O.
