Product information

The SRAS7-CBS is an independent new creation from the Japanese cult manufacturer Ibanez. It presents itself as a 7-string electric bass with a long scale scale length and a split fretboard, one half of which is fretted and the other half is fretless.

A stunning burl poplar/ash top on an okoumé body provides bright and powerful sounds with rich sustain. The rosewood fretboard (fretted) offers a balanced, powerful tone with a focused midrange. The Bubinga (fretless) fretboard offers a tight, deep and crisp mid tone. Medium frets make gripping easier. A removable finger rest offers two options: placing the thumb near the fretboard or in the up position .

The SRAS Super J pickup deliver a clear, bright and dynamic tone, while the AeroSilk piezo pickup provides an acoustic and woody sound similar to that of a double bass. The EQ section combines the controls of the magnetic pickup with the AeroSilk piezo system. The controls include a master volume, bass and treble controls for the pickups and a master volume and tone controls for the piezo system. The diverse tonal possibilities of the 3-way switching between the jazz style and the piezo pickup or a mixture of both will inspire your musical creativity and curiosity.

About Ibanez SR

The Soundgear series , also better known as the SR series , is a model series of solid body electric basses from the Japanese company Ibanez. The SR series was introduced in 1987 and has been in continuous production since then due to its popularity.

The SR bass has replaced the popular RB series, full name “Roadstar Bass”series . The first SR bass was based on a logical development and has since impresses with many identical features: rounded corners, a completely curved top, the slightly smaller size and of course super-slim lines.

In order to live up to its reputation as a real workhorse, the body of the SR series has been made slimmer, thereby saving weight . The neck connection has also been redesigned for even more sustain and better stability. Thanks to the slimmer silhouette and weight savings, every electric bass from the SR series can be played quickly and comfortably.

The models in the SR series range from simple entry-level and student models such as the GSR and GSRM , to the solid basses from the SRT series with continuous necks, to the absolute top class with exotic woods, such as the SR Prestige - and SR Premium series . Depending on your taste and budget, everyone will find the right e-bass model from the Ibanez SR series.

About Ibanez

The Japanese instrument manufacturer Ibanez can look back on a long tradition in guitar and bass building. While Ibanez initially stood out with idiosyncratic copies of traditional models from manufacturers such as Gibson and Fender , independent series gradually came onto the market, such as the Iceman, JEM, Artcore and RG. In the 1980s, the manufacturer made a name for itself, especially in the heavy sector, with its instruments that shone with modern features, individual design and excellent playability. Innovations such as the 7- and 8-string guitars, which emerged from the fruitful collaboration with artists such as Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Meshuggah, did the rest to establish Ibanez 's good reputation. Today the manufacturer offers an extensive range, ranging from entry-level guitars and basses to unusual custom shop models. Ibanez also knows how to impress when it comes to effects devices and amplifier model , as the classic TS9 Tubescreamer proves. With us you will find a comprehensive selection of guitars, basses, amplifiers, effects and accessories from Ibanez.
