The Ibanez SLM10 in detail

About Scott LePage

In 2011, Scott LePage founded the band Polyphia with his co-guitarist Tim Henson, bassist Clay Gober, drummer Brandon Burkhalter and singer Lane Duskin. That same year, the group released their debut EP Resurrect . A year later, singer Lane Duskin left the band and Polyphia continued instrumentally. From the beginning, Scott LePage and his special playing technique were a cornerstone of the Polyphia sounds. After another EP, the band released their debut album Muse in 2014 with the help of crowdfunding. Polyphia were then signed by Equal Vision Records and re-released their debut album in 2015. In the fall of 2015, the band initially went on a US tour with Invent, Animate and the Headliner Erra . In 2022, the band released their fourth studio album , Remember That You Will Die , which features various guest musicians such as Steve Vai. The album peaked at number 33 on the US album charts. The online magazine Loudwire included Remember That You Will Die on their list of the 50 best rock and metal albums of 2022 and chose Playing God as Song of the Year 2022.

Elegant optics, modern sound

Based on Ibanez 's classic AZ models, the Ibanez Scott LePage Signature features an ash body and roasted maple neck . The S-TECH special roasting increases the stability, durability, water resistance and resistance of the wood to temperature fluctuations. The neck is sealed with an oil finish which helps give it a similar feel as if it was already played in. With the Luminlay Side Dots you can always find the right fret, even on dark stages. Scott LePage received his own signature pickup set from DiMarzio , which is also application in the SLM10: The DiMarzio SLM Original HSS Set delivers the sound that Polyphia is known for. The gold-plated Gotoh hardware in the form of locking tuning machines and a T1502 tremolo always ensure precise tuning and intonation. The visual highlight is of course the flamed maple top on the basswood body. The Ibanez SLM10 comes in a sturdy gig bag.

About Ibanez AZ

The high-quality electric guitars from the Ibanez AZ series are aimed at both beginners and advanced guitarists who appreciate a modern look, special playability and an assertive tone.

The different solid-body electric guitars in the series have been produced by Ibanez since 2018, but are already very popular today.

The reason for this is certainly the completely new body shape of the AZ series. If you take a closer look at the body, you will find similarities with the iconic ST form , rather than with the RG silhouette that is otherwise typical of Ibanez . Besides the body, the main difference between the RG and AZ series is that most RG's are equipped with a double-locking Floyd-Rose tremolo system, while the AZ series electric guitars are equipped with a synchronized tremolo in the Fender-Style without locking nuts . The oval C-shape neck profile , the 12" fretboard radius and the neck-body transition are responsible for playability that is as quick as it is agile, even in the high registers.

The AZS series then goes one step further and offers its players, in addition to the already well-known features of the series, tremolo and hardtail variants . Compared to other tremolo versions, both AZS models use a metal plate for the bridge pickup to obtain the typical clear, fat and "twangy" tone that is so typical of this type of guitar.

How popular the model series is is shown by the many artist models , such as Martin Miller, Andy Timmons, Mario Camarena, Marco Sfogli, Scott LePage and Tim Henson, which are part of the AZ series .

In 2021, the AZ series was expanded to include the AZ Essentials (AZES) series . With the sub-series, more affordable guitars can now be found in the lineup. The philosophy behind the AZES series is to bring the tone, versatility and playability of this acclaimed series to a wider range of beginner and intermediate players. To make playing the guitar and the learning process easier and more enjoyable, the AZES series is equipped with a Mono unit output jack , a 250 mm fretboard radius and round comfort bridge saddles .

About Ibanez

The Japanese instrument manufacturer Ibanez can look back on a long tradition in guitar and bass building. While Ibanez initially stood out with idiosyncratic copies of traditional models from manufacturers such as Gibson and Fender , independent series gradually came onto the market, such as the Iceman, JEM, Artcore and RG. In the 1980s, the manufacturer made a name for itself, especially in the heavy sector, with its instruments that shone with modern features, individual design and excellent playability. Innovations such as the 7- and 8-string guitars, which emerged from the fruitful collaboration with artists such as Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Meshuggah, did the rest to establish Ibanez 's good reputation. Today the manufacturer offers an extensive range, ranging from entry-level guitars and basses to unusual custom shop models. Ibanez also knows how to impress when it comes to effects devices and amplifier model , as the classic TS9 Tubescreamer proves. With us you will find a comprehensive selection of guitars, basses, amplifiers, effects and accessories from Ibanez.
