All instruments in the G&L Made in Fullerton series are, as the name suggests, made in the USA. Today's G&L instruments are still manufactured in its historic factory on Fender Avenue in Fullerton, California, to meet the high quality standards that Leo Fender set for its instruments at the time.
The G&L Made In Fullerton series includes several long and short scale basses, electric guitars in T, ST and offset format and offers some technical special features compared to the instruments of his first company, which was sold to CBS. The innovations include the Dual Fulcrum Vibrato on the Legacy models, the PTB Tone system and the Tri-Tone system on the CLF Research basses. Combined with the best wood available, high-quality instruments with a classic look and modern sound are created that leave nothing to be desired.
Emerging from his company CLF Research , founded in 1966, Clarence Leo Fender began the final chapter of his legendary career when he launched the G&L brand and its instruments in 1980. G&L' s instruments benefited from his lifelong creativity and innovation , and by the 1980s his groundbreaking new instruments became icons , beloved by musicians around the world. Today's G&L instruments are still manufactured at its historic factory on Fender Avenue in Fullerton, California - the birthplace of bolt-on necks.
When Leo Fender was asked what he thought of his numerous models, he himself was of the following opinion: "G&L guitars and basses are the best instruments I have ever built".
