The Fender Tom Delonge Starcaster in detail

About Tom DeLonge

Tom DeLonge was born in 1975 in Poway, California and is a guitarist, singer, songwriter and co-founder of the punk bands blink-182 and Box Car Racer. In spring 2005 he also founded the rock band Angels & Airwaves. Tom received his first guitar as a gift from a friend at the age of 15. Even though it was broken, he used it to teach himself to play the guitar . In 1992 he tried to form the band blink-182 together with Mark Hoppus. When they first met, Mark and Tom wrote the song Carousel , but the two had difficulty finding other members for the band and the instrumentation kept changing.
blink-182 achieved its international breakthrough in 1999 with the instrumentation Hoppus, DeLonge and Travis Barker with the five-times platinum album Enema of the State and the single All the Small Things . From then on, blink-182 were firmly anchored in the world's top punk band.

After four commercially successful albums and countless awards, the band decided to take a break in 2005. Tom then founded the rock band Angels & Airwaves , while Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker played together in +44. In February 2009, blink-182 announced their reunion, but Tom was replaced by Matt Skiba.
It wasn't until 2022 that Tom rejoined the band after a seven-year break, who then announced a new album and a world tour to mark the reunion.

To the stars

The Tom DeLonge Starcaster is unusual in every respect. The semi-hollow offset body and a Seymour Duncan SH-5 Custom Humbucker produce the right sound for Tom's characteristic tone. But the sound of the Starcaster is not only loud and powerful, it also has a sophisticated inner workings and yet convinces with its simplicity. There is only a single volume control with an integrated treble bleed circuit. This means that your sound retains the full treble spectrum and the right bite at any volume. The slim maple neck with a C-profile carries a 12" rosewood fingerboard with medium jumbo frets and provides a modern, comfortable playing feel. Other highlights include tuning-stable Fender locking tuners and a freely adjustable bridge with stop tailpiece for customised setup and additional tuning stability. Tom's personal artwork can be found on the neckplate and headstock.

Ein Pickup für alle Fälle

Even though the Fender Tom DeLonge Starcaster only has one pickup, you can still tease a variety of cool sounds out of this guitar. This video will give you a first impression of what is possible with the sound of Tom's signature Starcaster.
