The Duke Student BT is a modern classical guitar thanks to a CITES-free wood selection and an innovative thermal spruce top. The partially solid corpus from Bocote does not fall under the provisions of the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Endangered Species that came into force on January 2, 2017. In addition, refined thermal spruce was used as ceiling wood. This artificial aging process positively changes the sound and makes the wood less susceptible to fluctuations in humidity. The black ebony fingerboard finally rounds off this special classical guitar from the Student series.
Based on the latest research results, the spruce top from the alpine highlands of Graubünden in Switzerland has been refined using a thermo-vacuum process. This artificial aging process positively changes the sound and makes the wood less susceptible to fluctuations in humidity. In addition, the wood gets a pleasant, warm color.
Like every Duke, the Student BT is finalized and optimized by plucked instrument makers in Tübingen, Swabia, before it goes on sale. Many other combinations with alternative scale lengths, tonewoods and cutaways can be found in the Duke Student series.
