2010 veröffentlichte Clavia die ersten Nord Pianos. Die Aufgabe, die sie sich dabei setzten, war einfach und gleichzeitig kaum schwerer zu gestalten. Designe ein Stagepiano, mit dem man sowohl akustische als auch digitale Pianos ersetzen kann, ach ja und es muss mobil sein. Es war ein Riesenerfolg. Nun geht Clavia mit dem Nord Piano 5 in die fünfte Generation und hat die Funktionen über die Jahre immer weiter optimiert. Dank des einzigartigen roten Designs der Instrumente sind sie sehr auffällig und ein echter Hingucker. Dabei fällt sehr schnell auf, wie beliebt die Nord Pianos unter professionellen Musiker sind. Auf so ziemlich jeder Bühne ist ein Nord Piano zu sehen.
Diese hohe Beliebtheit ist unter anderem auf die kaum zu übertreffende Funktionalität der Geräte zurückzuführen. Neben den zwei Piano-Engines findet man hier auch zwei Sample-Synths, die vollständig unabhängig voneinander sind. Ab Werk ist das Nord Piano 5 mit einer 120-stimmigen Polyphonie und vielen Klangfarben von Klavier bis Marimba ausgestattet. Solltet ihr unter diesen Klangfarben nicht die Richtige finden, ist das kein Problem, diese können über eine kostenlose Software problemlos ausgetauscht oder erweitert werden. Um die Funktionalität dann noch weiter zu verbessern, stehen dem Nutzer eine große Auswahl von Effekten zur Verfügung. Diese können direkt auf der Oberfläche ausgewählt und editiert werden. Mit diesen Werkzeugen sind eurer Kreativität also keine Grenzen gesetzt.
Das Nord Piano 5 gibt es in zwei verschiedenen Ausführungen, zum einen mit 73 und mit 88 Tasten. Die beiden Modelle unterscheiden sich jedoch nur in der Anzahl der Tasten, der Größe des Gerätes und schließlich im Gewicht. Hierbei ist allerdings zu erwähnen, dass selbst die 88 Tasten Version gerade einmal 18,5 kg auf die Waage bringt. Bei der Tastatur selbst kommt Clavia's "Triple Sensor Grand Weighted Hammer Action" Mechanik zum Einsatz.

Clavia is a Swedish electronic musical instrument manufacturer based in Stockholm, founded in 1983 by Hans Nordelius. After initially producing drum machine and electronic drum sets , Clavia has relied on keyboard instruments such as stage pianos and synthesizers since the release of the Nord Lead in 1995. Clavia instruments are valued not only for their sound quality, but also for their solid workmanship and long model maintenance.
The Nord Lead and Nord Wave are virtual analog synthesizers, the latter being sample-based . The Nord Stage is a stage piano that, in addition to a synthesizer section, also has first-class emulations of well-known pianos , organs and other keyboard instruments such as the Hammond B3, Vox Continental, Fender Rhodes or Wurlitzer .
The Nord Electro is a stripped-down version of the Nord Stage that does without the synthesizer section. With the Nord Piano 5, Clavia is bringing a new stage piano onto the market, which is particularly aimed at piano players with its remarkably realistic keyboard .
