About Amano

The Amano brand was founded to interpret Spanish guitars in a contemporary way that goes beyond traditional norms.

The Spanish guitar construction method has perfectly developed design features to use a high level of craftsmanship to build inexpensive guitars with an easy response, a full sound and a long life . However, many players prefer steel-string guitars because of the grip dimensions, optics or other features. Since the nylon-string guitar, due to its soft strings, is very suitable for those who do not play music very often or with longer interruptions, we believe that there should be a greater variety of models for nylon-string guitars in order to also appeal to non-classical players. That's why Amano works together with leading manufacturers to develop and implement new ideas and models that go beyond the classic offering.

Amano works with leading, experienced guitar manufacturers in production. The production of the Amano series 3 – 10 takes place at a guitar manufacturer near Valencia. It has existed since 1957 and is led by luthiers Manuel Adalid and Juan Hernandez. Our partner HORA SA in Romania takes over the production of the entry-level series 0 – 2. This manufacturer, founded in 1951 as a violin making factory, has mastered the Spanish construction method so perfectly that it has also built guitar models under the brand of the Spanish market leader.

In addition to the traditional classical guitar models, Amano offers a large range of models whose features are also attractive for non-classical players:

SMALL NECK (-SN) – 48 mm nut width

Small necks offer enough space for most guitar playing techniques. They are often the preferred choice of players who have small hands or are used to narrower necks. Modern and popular handles - such as with the thumb - are more comfortable to use on a small-neck guitar.

OPEN PORE (-OP) – wafer-thin finish without pore-filling material

The thin and feather-light lacquer allows the instrument to vibrate freely - the result is an easy response and greater dynamics. And the finish looks very natural with its open finish .

SOUNDPORT - A second sound port in the upper guitar frame

Through the sound port, the guitar sound is reproduced loudly and clearly in the direction of the player. This leads to a dynamic sound experience for the player and thus significantly more enjoyment of playing. (Standard on all models except models with pickup)

SAPELLI BLANKET (-S)

The type of wood on the top has a decisive influence on the sound character and response of the guitar. In the classic area, cedar and spruce have prevailed - Amano also uses other high-performance woods that are convincing as ceiling wood. They give the instrument new acoustics and optics - with the same quality in function and longevity.

cutaway-Electric (-CE)

Amano also offers guitar models with cutaway and Fishman pickup systems.
