The first sequencer were analog step sequencer. Each sound event was programmed “step by step” with different properties such as tone duration, height and the like. The midi sequencer

In the 1980s , midi sequencer were primarily built. This is basically just pure software that controls different sound generators, such as keyboards or other keyboard instruments . These sequencer are also known as real-time sequencer because recording takes place directly via a master keyboard or an editor. There is no division by pattern or step. A midi sequencer can therefore also be used as a pure recording device . In addition to information about pitch, velocity and duration of the tones, the instrumentalization can also be specified in the midi sequencer .

Buying a sequencer online – what should you consider?
