Gig bags
Gig bags are lightweight, portable covers for guitars and basses, made from durable materials and well padded on the inside. They protect against knocks and scratches, while adjustable shoulder straps and handles make carrying easier. Additional pockets provide space for accessories. Compared with hard-shell cases, gig bags are lighter, more flexible and available in different sizes for various guitar types. They offer an ideal combination of protection, comfort and functionality and are therefore indispensable for gigging musicians.

Hard-shell cases
Hard-shell cases offer optimal protection for your stringed instrument and are ideal for transport and storage. They are made from robust materials such as wood or ABS plastic and are lined with soft padding inside to secure the instrument. Sturdy closures and carrying handles ensure safety. In most cases your instrument gets even more protection from lockable snap latches. Despite their greater weight, cases are indispensable for protecting and transporting valuable instruments under difficult conditions.

Further tips for transport
- Reduce string tension: Reduce the string tension slightly to relieve the neck, especially on longer journeys.
- Secure loose parts: Remove and secure all loose parts such as the tremolo arm, straps or cables.
- Padding: Additional padding around sensitive areas such as the headstock or neck can provide extra protection.
- Transport in a vehicle: Lay the instrument flat and well secured in the boot or on the back seat. Do not place heavy objects on the case.
- Transport by plane: Try to take the instrument as hand luggage. Many airlines allow this, but check their policies in advance. If the instrument must be checked in, mark it as fragile and use a robust hard-shell case. You should also consider transit insurance.
