Pedalboard Formats
Do you have enough room for your pedals?
Why call it a "stress board"?
Admittedly, the topic can be a little despair-inducing: the choice of effects is almost endless and the agony of choice correspondingly large. But if you think carefully about the sounds you like and actually need on a regular basis, it gets a lot easier. Once you've got your effects together — whether it's two or twenty pedals — everything should be wired and mounted so it's ready to go the moment inspiration strikes.
To make it a bit easier for you to find the right board for your pedals, we've illustrated them all to scale and sorted by brand with the most common pedal formats shown. That way you can get a good idea of which board will cause the least hassle for your pedals.
Think beforehand about the order you want to place the effects in, and bear in mind that patch cables also need about 2 cm of space.
