The world of drum add-ons is huge. We have divided the most important extensions into clear categories for you.
Ching rings:
Ching rings are the perfect complement to your drum kit. Simply place them on the hi-hat, any cymbal or on a drum. Ching rings are available in different tonal colours.
... Katsch-Ching!
Hi-hat tambourines:
Hi-hat tambourines look almost identical to their non-mountable siblings, with the difference that they have a bracket to attach them to a hi-hat stand or a standard cymbal stand. The advantage is that once mounted they sit securely and can be played directly with a stick or with the hi-hat stand's foot pedal.
The tambourines come in different variants: single-row, double-row and with jingles made of steel, brass or sand-blasted. They are very useful companions for any drummer, as they're super easy to mount and produce a wonderful tonal character. The grooved surface gives the drummer the option to create an additional guiro sound.
Percussion blocks:
A percussion block is often used by large drumlines in the USA because of the block's projection. But they have also been used in the drum kit context for some time, especially as a clave effect. Percussion blocks are very durable and impress with a penetrating tone.
Bongos:
Everyone knows toms and snare drums, but hardly anyone uses the classic bongo sound within a drum kit. There are so many great possibilities to discover. Use the bongos simply as a side-snare or as a tom-tom addition to explore new tonal possibilities.
Cowbells:
One of the best-known percussion instruments in the drum kit is certainly the cowbell. Over the years companies have developed countless models, including MEINL Percussion. The range spans from small, high-pitched variants through larger, low-pitched ones to tunable cowbells.
Chimes:
Every piece of music needs transitions and dynamics to offer interesting alternatives to the main theme. Simply sweep your hand or stick across the chime bars to create atmospheric effects.
Make your drum kit the ultimate rhythm section:
