The popular DTX range from the house of Yamaha enters the next round. With the three new E-Drum kits from the DTX6 series, Yamaha continues its long tradition and combines its experience in this field with new features and powerful sounds.
New drum sounds
The drum module of the Yamaha DTX6 series is packed with lifelike drum sounds as well as digital tones that were recorded in very elaborate recording sessions in some of the world's most renowned studios. To create a truly realistic sonic picture, the attack and decay phases of each individual drum were optimised and the studio room ambience was also recorded. Using the Yamaha Kit-Modifier you can now not only control compression and effect intensity and set them per drum and cymbal channel, but the recorded room ambience can also be dynamically blended into the drum sound. Put on a pair of headphones and plug them into the new high-quality headphone amplifier, and you might just get the impression you're sitting at an acoustic drum kit.
Realistic playing feel
For an especially authentic playing feel and ultra-precise expression, the pads of the DTX6 series have also been redesigned. The playing surface of the snare pad is made of TCS (Textured Cellular Silicone). Under the playing surface a silicone cushion equipped with countless air chambers absorbs the stick impacts and at the same time converts them into a realistic rebound. For different tonal variations the pads for snare, ride and crash (except on the DTX6K-X) are equipped with three zones. This allows you to play not only the head but also the rim or side stick on the snare, while the cymbal pads offer the edge, bow and bell and can even be hand-choked.
Extensive connectivity
Besides the classic audio outputs, the modules of the DTX6 series offer MIDI and USB ports. Via USB, audio data can be sent directly to a DAW and your performance can be transmitted as MIDI data to trigger other sound sources and plug-ins. This way the data can also be edited afterwards. If you need a bit more, up to 14 pads can be connected to the sound module, enabling extensive setups. In combination with the free Yamaha Rec’n’Share-App, you have the possibility to seamlessly connect your creativity with the digital world. Simply connect your DTX6 via USB to a compatible iOS or Android device and record your drum sessions easily as audio or video. The companion app offers extensive editing features and time-stretching capabilities – all conveniently from the drum throne.
Numerous practice options
To continually work on your progress with the new DTX6 drum kits, a range of practice options is available to you. In addition to numerous recording functions, 10 practice programmes and 35 practice songs from a variety of genres, a programmable metronome helps improve your timing and perfect the groove.
