The Swedish synthesizer manufacturer Teenage Engineering really packs a punch with their latest release! “Knocking out” can actually be taken literally. The 8-bit sounds from the two new Pocket Operator modules PO-133 and PO-128 are based on the sounds of the popular Capcom console classics Street Fighter and Mega Man .
Teenage Engineering PO-133 Street Fighter
Behind the circuit board of the PO-133 is a mix of a drum machine and a vocal sampler . The functionality of the Street Fighter module is based on the popular PO-33 circuit. You can record your own voice, but of course other sounds , via the integrated microphone or the line in connection . You have 40 seconds of sample time available. Once recorded, your own samples can be combined with the integrated sounds from the popular 80s Street Fighter game series , controlled through the 16-step sequencer and twisted in crazy ways with the 15 “punch-in” effects .
Teenage Engineering PO-128 Mega Man
The PO-128 Mega Man module from the Pocket Operator series combines live synthesizer with step sequencer functions. The 8-bit sounds of the legendary Mega Man game series can be played live, controlled via the 16-step sequencer and brought into other spheres with 16 effects. Iconic 80s sounds at the push of a button and in your pocket.
Like all Pocket Operator Modules, the PO-133 and PO-128 are powered by two standard micro batteries . The animated LC display , the built-in loudspeaker and the simple yet ingenious Bent-Wire stand are also included in the two new Pocket Operator modules.
