Stanford Big-Sur fretted and fretless – acoustic basses

When sea meets mountains, the forces of nature unleash a deep rumble. Just like Stanford's new acoustic basses named after the "Big Sur" coast. We've hauled two impressive acoustic basses ashore from Stanford's Lo-Freak series for you. Both 4-string models are called Big-Sur and live up to the name! Once you play them, they develop a powerful, punchy sound thanks to the combination of a Sapelli body and a solid Canadian cedar top. The neck of both Big-Sur acoustic basses is made of mahogany and has been fitted with a rosewood fretboard. Together with the Venetian cutaway, the higher positions are easily reachable. You can get the Big-Sur acoustic bass from Stanford here as a fretted model or as a fretless variant.

For everyone who wants to enjoy the warm acoustic sound a bit louder, the Big-Sur basses have been equipped with the Posydon pickup system from Nautilus. That means nothing stands in the way of electrified bass playing through an acoustic combo amp.
