Damping rings for vintage drum sound!
A key element of the Mr. Muff product range are the "Muffins". These damping rings are specially designed for snare drums, toms and cymbals and offer a practical alternative to traditional methods such as using dish towels or cotton cloths.
The Muffins consist of a wool-felt ring combined with a 100% cotton cloth and are sized to fit all common drum sizes. A special advantage of the Muffins is that they can be stacked to achieve a stronger damping effect. In addition, the 10-inch Muffin can also be used to damp cymbals and hi-hats, as it has a cut-out in the centre.

From "MuffKopf" to Mr. Muff
All products are produced handmade in Germany at the Rohema Percussion factory. Thanks to the company's expertise in making drumsticks and professional mallets, it is straightforward for Rohema to take over production of Thorsten Reeß's innovative Mr. Muff products in its in-house sewing department. Inventor Thorsten Reeß, himself a drummer, was looking for a way to quickly change his bass drum or tom sound during live performance. Since he couldn't find what he was looking for anywhere, he started tinkering himself. In 2014 he developed the BassMuff cover for the bass drum beater, which at the time still went by the amusing name "MuffKopf". Over time, MiniMuff and most recently the Muffins were added.
