Meinl Percussion innovations 2024

The highlights at a glance!

Our expert Daniel made his way to Guttenstetten again this year to personally report to you about the new products from the Meinl Percussion showroom. Daniel will briefly show you the highlights for 2024. Further down on the page you will find all the products at a glance.

Have fun!

Meinl Percussion sound Hole Designer

Due to the great popularity of the sound Hole Designer series, we naturally took a look at the new Kalimba models from Meinl Percussion on our tour of the Meinl showroom. Depending on the model , the Kalimba body of the new variants is made of either acacia , sapele or walnut wood and produces a warm sound when played, which is amplified by the sound hole. The great thing about playing with kalimbas is that even an inexperienced musician can achieve great musical success very quickly and they also help us to relax our minds in our increasingly stressful everyday lives. The thumb pianos from the Meinl Percussion sound Hole family have 17 notes and are preset to the C major scale . Daniel tested the Kalimbas for you. No matter in which order he plucked the keys, they always matched each other . It is not possible to create false tones ;-)

The Kalimbas are available in the following designs: Lava , Coral Reef and Sun. The including includes a soft case for transport, a tuning hammer for retuning and a microfiber cloth for cleaning.

If you want to enjoy the theme of kalimba “amplified” , you should take a closer look at the electrified solid pickup kalimba from Meinl Percussion . It has the same features of the previously introduced sound hole designers, but is equipped with an integrated pickup and a high-quality quarter-inch output socket. To find the ideal sound , the kalimba sound can be adjusted using the volume , FX volume and tone controls. Additionally, the electrified thumb piano is equipped with an AUX/REC and headphone output , making it a great choice for larger rooms, stages or even recordings.

Meinl Percussion FX5 effects pedal
& other electronic innovations

On our tour of the Meinl Percussion showroom it stays electric, because our expert Daniel noticed the FX5 effect pedal . Digital effects and players are becoming more and more popular in modern percussion setups. The FX5 from Meinl Percussion is a digital percussion effects pedal with five pre-programmed sounds. You can choose from: Pop, Doom, SDS, 808-Sub and Soft-Kick. The pedal can be easily connected to an amplifier or PA system and, thanks to the robust steel pedal plate with weighted body, you can play comfortably and softly. The clear controls allow you to adjust the dynamics and volume according to your own preferences. The power supply is supplied via a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. If you're interested in adding a digital component to your otherwise analog percussion setup, take a closer look at the FX5 effects pedal.

The Meinl Percussion trigger pedal is also new and electric. The functions of the extremely practical trigger pedal are quickly explained. As soon as the pedal is connected to a sound module via a quarter-inch cable , it transmits the signals from the sound module. The playing feel and the robust workmanship leave nothing to be desired.

The Compact Percussion pad from Meinl Percussion offers a little more functionality. It works similarly to the FX5 effects pedal and can be easily integrated into existing setups. What is immediately noticeable due to its technology is that the Compact Percussion pad is triggered with the hands or sticks . Inside, five pre-programmed sounds (9000, SDS & 808 snare, tambourine and hand clap) are waiting to be fired or adjusted using the volume and sensitivity controls. We were impressed by the compact percussion pad .

Meinl Percussion 10" side snare drums

As a further innovation for 2024, Daniel will introduce you to the camera two new 10" compact side snare drums from Meinl Percussion . So-called side snare drums are characterized by a particularly bright , clear and overtone-rich sound . Both models are made of one 6-ply maple shells and have a large tuning range. The Jingle snare goes one step further and is - as the name suggests - equipped with stainless steel jingles for a tambourine effect . Both effect snares are perfect for drummers and percussionists suitable for raising existing setups to a new sound level .
