Meinl Cymbals new products 2024
The Meinl Cymbals company invited us to their holy halls in Gutenstetten in the new year to examine and try out the new products for 2024 . Daniel, head of the Walldorf drum department and the local Meinl flagship store, grabbed the cymbals and tried them out for you. Of course, we had our cameraman with us again, who skillfully captured the tour.
Meinl Cymbals Pure Alloy Extra Hammered series
For 2024, Meinl Cymbals is expanding the Pure Alloy series to include the name Extra Hammered . The new medium-thin weight series is characterized by its machine-hammered finish , which immediately catches the eye. But of course it's primarily about the sound. The cymbals of the Pure Alloy Extra Hammered series open easily and produce a sound that is as powerful as it is warm. The series is suitable for all styles. & Pure Alloy Soundwave Hi Hats
The “normal” Pure Alloy series has also been expanded for 2024. The cymbals, which are particularly popular with cymbals for their bright and clear sound character, have an 8" and 12" splash as well as an 18" trash china on the side. The splash-cymbals impress with a fast, crispy response and the trash china shines thanks to its cut-outs on the finish with a fast attack and short sustain.
Also new are the 16" , 18" and 20" Thin-Crash as well as the 20" and 22" Thin-Ride . The very thin Thin-Ride in particular are characterized by a clear stick attack over a warm carpet of sound. The so-called "crashing " creates a powerful accent with a long sustain, making them truly versatile and interesting cymbals .
Also new and worth mentioning are the two new 14" and 15" hi-hats from the Pure Alloy Soundwave series . Both hi-hats offer a fast, clear response, followed by a high "sizzle effect" in the wash. This is perfect for all drummers who want clear definition from their hi-hats. The lower cymbals prevents the airlock effect and ensures a powerful foot chick sound. The hi-hats are versatile and work well in the mix.

Meinl Cymbals Byzance Foundry Reserve & Big Dark Apple
Further highlights for 2024 from Meinl Cymbals include the Byzance Foundry Reserve and the Big Dark Apple series . The hand-hammered Byzance Foundry Reserve series has a 21" flat ride and a 22" China ride to complete the series. Both cymbals immediately impress with a complex sound characteristic that you have to hear to believe! The new Byzance Dark Big Apple Flat-Ride is just as special in sound . The unpainted finish and the lack of a bell ensure that the lightweight product has a sharp definition, surrounded by an earthy character. The slight curve in the shape of the cymbal creates a whoosh and a touch of hiss in the sound , as well as a deep, breathy response when "crashing".

Meinl Cymbals Complete Cymbal Sets
& crash packs
Also new are the many different complete cymbal sets and crash packs . The sets are available in different series and equipment levels and are aimed particularly at beginners who don't yet have the motivation to put together a complete setup from individual cymbals or at advanced players who want to complete a standard or existing setup with special cymbals . All complete sets are equipped with hi-hat, crash and ride-cymbals from the respective series . The crash packs include tonally coordinated crash-cymbals in the set. Meinl Cymbals Byzance Artist's Choice cymbal sets
Another pretty cool new addition for 2024 are the many different Byzance Artist's Choice cymbal sets . All sets in this series were compiled and curated by the Meinl Cymbals Artist's. First up are Benny Greb , Matt Halpern , Chris Coleman , Matt Garstka and Mike Johnston . All sets are equipped with hi-hats, crash and ride-cymbals from the respective artists. In addition, there are often Chinese and crash ride-cymbals in different sizes depending on the drummer. You can find out in detail which cymbal set is ultimately equipped with which cymbals and sizes on the respective product pages. We find the Artist's Choice series very successful, not only to get closer to the signature sound of his idol, but also to complete a standard drum set with special cymbals .
