Meinl Cymbals Byzance
The cymbals of the Byzance series form the lower end of the Meinl Cymbal range in terms of tonality. They all have a dark, deep basic tone in common, varying in intensity depending on the finish or treatment. The sound characteristics of the cymbals are best expressed at a moderate volume, as this allows all the tonal nuances to develop audibly.
The Byzance cymbals are available with brilliant and traditional finish, but also as untreated cymbals with a dark finish called Byzance Dark.
The Byzance Extra Dry are even more raw and intensively hammered in their finish , resulting in a optics that, to the untrained eye, is reminiscent of metal that has slumbered on the seabed for years. The Byzance Dual cymbals combine the interior of the Extra Dry models with a brilliant exterior piece to combine the best of the two processing variants in terms of sound.
In order to simulate an aging process, the Byzance Vintage cymbals were treated with a sandblaster, which results in an interesting matt finish and exciting sound characteristics.
With their deep hammering, the Byzance Jazz cymbals offer a pleasantly soft but also dry and dark sound.
