Unlike diatonic models, a chromatic harmonica allows you to play all semitones of the scale. This is made possible by the characteristic slide on the side of the instrument. The Chrometta models were specifically developed to make starting out on the chromatic as easy as possible. Characteristic are the larger tone holes, which make it easier to hit individual notes and provide a comfortable playing feel.

The Hohner Chrometta series includes four models – Chrometta 8, 10, 12 and 14 – which mainly differ in range and cover roughly two to three and a half octaves. This means the series offers the right instrument for different needs – from the compact beginner model to the variant with an extended range. With its full chromatic range the Chrometta is suitable for many musical styles from pop and folk to jazz or classical and is particularly popular with beginners.
