Professional: The four editions
Inspired by Gretsch's golden age in the 1950s and early '60s, the Vintage Select edition guitars are designed for players who appreciate the best of musical instrument history. Vintage fans and collectors in particular enjoy these guitars, which impress with their attention to detail. The most striking Vintage details include aged bindings and inlays as well as thicker pickguards.
The Players edition instruments were designed for professional use and offer the classic Gretsch sound and state-of-the-art features for maximum power, comfort and versatility. Among other things , Schaller locking tuning machines and modern straplocks are used. Due to the shallower body depth and the associated feedback reduction, the Players edition instruments are ideal for the large stage.
The Gretsch Artist Signature edition offers meticulous, detailed recreations of instruments that capture the signature sound of the famous endorsement artists. When designing the instruments, care was taken to exactly meet the wishes of the professionals. Many well-known artists such as Malcolm Young, George Harrison, Billy Gibbons and Brian Setzer have discovered Gretsch guitars and are proud owners of one or more signature instruments.
The Limited edition models elevate Gretsch's most iconic designs with both eye-catching finishes and enhanced features and features. These small series models, breathtaking in style and sound , are intended for those who are looking for an individual character . In 2023, Gretsch will celebrate 140 years of company history and has launched new Limited models to mark the occasion.
Professional: Vintage Specs
All instruments in the Professional Collection are of the best workmanship, typical of Gretsch, and feature high-quality parts: the foundation for the “Great Gretsch sound” is laid by the Gretsch Squeezebox capacitors installed in all guitars in the collection. These provide the Vintage sound that probably comes to mind of every guitarist when they hear the name “Gretsch”. In addition to the in-house pickups, TV Jones pickups also breathe life into the instruments in the Professional Collection on some models.
Professional: Modern features
Only the best woods are used; some models even have strikingly grained tops made of flamed maple. Adjusto-Matic bridges in combination with stop or trapeze tailpieces offer the best intonation. For models with a “T” in the name, you can also look forward to a licensed Bigsby vibrato, which gives the sound that certain something. The finishes are also impressive: from natural to metallic to exciting sparkle finishes, there is guaranteed to be a suitable stage look for every guitarist.
