Of the various Les Paul vintages, 1959 is probably the most sought-after and also the most expensive year. This year there was a lot of experimentation with different burst finishes, which stood out strongly from the '58 vintage and were very intense in color. The new colors were initially hesitantly accepted and therefore fewer instruments were produced, making an original 1959 Les Paul Standard a rare and sought-after collector's item.
We were inspired by these guitars and are now introducing you to our Made To Measure series Les Paul 1959 VOS from the Gibson custom shop . Each instrument is a unique piece made from carefully selected woods and components.

Our session Select 1959 models have a beautiful Bourbon Burst VOS finish. VOS stands for “Vintage Original Specs”, which means that the guitars are replicas of historical original instruments that appear to be well-rehearsed but are not aged.
