1958 Les Paul Standard
VOS
The 1958 Les Paul Standard is a classic model from the cult manufacturer Gibson. Until the mid-1950s, single-colour models with P-90 single-coil pickups were the standard at Gibson, but by the end of the decade humbuckers had been introduced into the Les Paul line-up. Gibson also became more adventurous with colour: instead of Ebony and Gold Top, various burst finishes were used to give the guitars a very distinctive appearance.
We drew inspiration from these guitars and now present to you our Made To Measure Les Paul 1958 VOS range from the Gibson Custom Shop. Each instrument is a one-off made from carefully selected woods and components.
Our Gibson session Select 1958 models feature a beautiful Sunrise Tea Burst VOS finish. VOS stands for “Vintage Original Specs”, which means the guitars are reproductions of historic original instruments that look played-in to the eye but are not artificially aged.
