UPRIGHT STYLE. GRAND SPIRIT.
The AvantGrand NU1XA fulfills musical desires by combining the real-world playing of an acoustic piano with cutting-edge technology to create a grand piano-inspired experience. Discover the future of hybrid pianos today - a musical journey with endless possibilities that begins now. - This is AvantGrand.
THE ARTICULATION SENSOR SYSTEM
Like all AvantGrand models, the new NU1XA also has real piano mechanics. Additionally, it has our newly developed Articulation Sensor system, which precisely and continuously captures the pianist's finest nuances through non-contact electromagnetic sensors and Yamaha's proprietary algorithm. This system uses two separate sensors on each key: one for the hammer - the most important part of the acoustic piano sound mechanism - and the other for the key itself to accurately measure the movement of releasing the fingers and articulate the special nuances when the sound falls silent.
GRANDTOUCH PEDALS
A grand piano's damper pedal responds to the player's foot with a slightly different resistance. The GrandTouch pedals feature a pivot structure similar to that of a grand piano, providing the same expressive and familiar feel when pressing the pedal, further extending the playing range.
IMPROVED PIANO SOUND
With the NU1XA you can play the voices of the CFX, Yamaha's top-of-the-line concert grand piano and the first choice in competitions around the world, and the warm tones of the Bösendorfer Imperial grand piano on a single instrument .
The new samples give the player an even fuller sound than ever before.
MORE THAN “JUST” THE SOUND
The NU1XA's sonority doesn't just come from great piano samples. It also uses unique technologies to deliver expressiveness.
The Grand Expression modeling technology precisely simulates the complex interaction between player and instrument and thus reproduces the limitless variety of sounds of a grand piano.
Virtual Resonance modeling (VRM) faithfully reproduces the extraordinarily complex resonances of a grand piano, which are created by the resonant vibrations of the strings and the soundboard
RESONANCE THAT FILLS THE SURROUNDINGS LIKE A WING
In order to faithfully reproduce this unique sound experience of a grand piano, the NU1XA has a new sound system. It includes upward-firing woofers that bring the entire instrument into deep resonance and tweeters with a redesigned horn structure that harmonize three-dimensionally with the front and back in the high frequencies.
BEST SOUND, EVEN WITH HEADPHONES
By using special microphones at the player's position when recording the piano samples, Binaural sampling technology effectively reproduces the feeling of hearing an acoustic piano in front of you while you play. This technology was used on both the Yamaha CFX and the Bösendorfer Imperial Voices.
NEW DESIGN AND USER INTERFACE
By incorporating graceful curves from the side arms to the legs, the NU1XA conveys timeless beauty while exuding the elegance of an acoustic piano. The NU1XA also features a beautiful and discreet touch control panel that allows you to easily operate various basic instrument functions. When not in use, the control panel automatically turns off and is visually invisible.

Yamaha or A Company That Makes Everything . In fact, you could list more quickly what Yamaha doesn't make. The Japan-based company Yamaha, which has been active for over 125 years, is the jack-of-all-trades among instrument manufacturers. It started out as a producer of pianos and grand pianos and even wooden furniture, but the range has expanded considerably: Yamaha now offers keyboard instruments, string instruments, wind instruments, drums and percussion as well as PA and studio accessories. You will find, for example, western guitars, electric guitars, electric basses, the popular PSR keyboards, acoustic drum sets and electric drum sets or transverse flutes and saxophones in the beginner and advanced range as well as the popular Clavinova CLP-700 digital pianos and entertainer keyboards such as the Genos or the Yamaha MX49 synthesizer, PA equipment and studio monitors for professional demands. In any case, you can always rely on Yamaha to provide excellent value for money.
