Vandoren Java reeds were developed in 1983 for jazz and pop music. A larger piercing and more flexible blade tip than the traditional blade allows vibrations over a larger finish with maximum flexibility. About Vandoren

Since 1905, the Vandoren company from Paris has been selling high-quality reeds for clarinet and saxophone, as well as mouthpieces and accessories. Eugène van Doren, the founder, was a clarinetist himself and knew exactly what was important when making reeds. Soon he was not only making for himself and his colleagues, but for clarinet and saxophone players all over the world, so he was producing the reeds on an industrial production using machines he had developed.
