Die AU-Serie zeichnet sich durch eine ganz besondere Konstruktion aus. Anstatt wie bei den meisten Ukulelen aus drei separaten Teilen (Decke, Zargen und Boden) zu bestehen, wird der Korpus der AU zunächst aus einem massiven Holzblock gefräst, so dass Boden und Zargen aus einem Stück Holz bestehen. Die Decke wird dann hinzugefügt, um den Korpus zu vervollständigen. Diese Bauweise verleiht den Instrumenten einen einzigartigen Klang und eine hervorragende Spielbarkeit. Darüber hinaus verfügen sie über besondere Merkmale wie einen Stereo Sound Port, eine erhöhte Komfort-Armlehne und eine kantenlose Komfort-Halsstütze.
Die AUP10FMNE kommt mit einem Okoume Hals, einem Purpleheart Griffbrett, einer Decke aus geflammten Ahorn und massive Paulownia Zargen & Boden. Außerdem ist die Piccolo Gitarre mit einem Ibanez Undersaddle Tonabnehmer, einem Ibanez AEQ-2U Preamp mit eingebautem Stimmgerät und einem Purpleheart Doppel-Loch Steg ausgestattet.
