The best components from Europe in one device

Affordable and high-quality electronics don't always have to come from the Far East!

GEWA pianos are manufactured in the Adorf/Vogtland factory in compliance with the highest quality standards. Circuit board production at Technisat is carried out according to standard specifications of the automotive industry. The French chip manufacturer DREAM supplies the control electronics, the loudspeaker come from the German hi-fi specialist Visaton and the keyboards come from the world's largest Italian keyboard manufacturer Fatar. The sound itself comes from exclusive recordings of a Steinway D274 grand piano from the legendary HOME recording studio in Hamburg.

The DP 345

The DP 345 is the successor to the well-known DP 340, which has been revised in terms of keyboard, ease of use, sound reproduction and bluetooth connection.

The price of the piano is aimed at beginners, but its sound generation and piano sound correspond to the top models of GEWA pianos.

The keyboard

The well-known and tried and tested Concert Pianist keyboard from Fatar is installed in the DP 345. This translates the touch-dynamic playing precisely and provides a smooth playing feel that is ideal for beginners.

The 88 keys with hammer action are graduated in zones, meaning the keys in the bass range are heavier and the treble keys are lighter.

Each key is equipped with a three-point scanning system, which reduces the key travel by half compared to two-point systems and thus increases the playing speed.

The finish of the keyboard is covered with a synthetic ivory coating, which increases grip and playing comfort.

The velocity can be adjusted electronically in five levels using the “User Calibration Tool”.

The pedals are equipped with continuously variable sustain (damper), sostenuto and una corda pedal (soft pedal), whereby the half pedal and una corda values can be adjusted.

The sound reproduction

The sound generation, which uses the latest DSP and storage technology, is 256-voice polyphonic and is based on high-resolution recordings of a Steinway D274 grand piano with well over 1GB of memory.

The virtual piano technician also reproduces authentic sound details such as string resonance, pedal resonance or hammerhead attack. These fine details can be adjusted individually and the piano sound and character can be adapted to your own taste and playing.

These settings can either be adjusted conveniently using the completely revised, modern control unit with OLED display and illuminated buttons - or smartly using the GEWA "Piano Remote App" via cell phone and tablet (Android & iOS).

A total of 15 different sounds from classical to sacred, jazzy and modern are available to choose from, as well as five reverb and five modulation effects in two independently adjustable effect blocks.

The split and layer function allows up to three different sounds to be played at the same time.

The realistic sound is reproduced via a speaker system from the hi-fi specialist Visaton, which is housed in a sound cabinet. Alternatively, 2 headphone outputs are available.

The playing aids

The DP 345 is equipped with all the relevant functions you need for playing, learning and practicing the piano.

To get you started, a practice function with an ever-growing library of practice pieces is integrated.

Of course, there is also a metronome for tempo control, both with a simple click and preselectable rhythms.

For intuitive recording of your own recording or recording of practice pieces by the teacher, there is a digital recorder that can save both audio and midi notes to an external USB stick. The left and right hands can be recorded and played back separately.

Thanks to the USB-to-Host connection , the DP 345 is also optimally prepared for connection to computers, cell phones and tablets. Both midi and audio data can be transferred via USB .

Additional connections available include a line out (2x 6.3mm jack), a line in (3.5mm stereo jack), midi IN/OUT and an input for regular sustain pedals.

In contrast to other manufacturers, no impractical and unreliable external mains adapter is used - a normal power plug is sufficient, the conversion takes place with an internal transformer.

The case design

When designing GEWA pianos, the unity of form and function is the starting point. The simple but clear aesthetic supports the player through the simple and intuitive operation.

The precise production and use of high-quality materials complete the overall picture.

With its compact dimensions of 135cm width x 82cm height x 41cm depth and 41.5kg weight , the piano fits easily into smaller rooms.

In addition, the DP 345 is also able to be played as a stage piano without its base, which extends the area of application to live performances, such as in clubs, theaters or churches.

GEWA: Germany is back again

After the theme of digital pianos was neglected in Germany for a long time in favor of real pianos, the traditional family company GEorg WAlther, which has existed since 1925 and has gained its reputation through high-quality stringed instruments and accessories, is now starting to build digital pianos. In Adorf, located in the so-called "Silicon Saxony", GEWA not only relies on its own expertise, but also researches and develops its technology together with 20 European specialist companies.
